Personal Projects
Much of Houda’s work is guided by a commitment to expanding opportunity — particularly for children. She believes education plays a central role in reducing intergenerational inequality, which led her to contribute to the Core-Econ Project an open-access effort to rethink how economics and empirical reasoning are taught globally.
She’s also deeply engaged with questions of displacement and belonging. Having spent significant time in Lebanon and Colombia, she has worked closely with communities affected by both refugee flows and internal displacement. In collaboration with UNHCR, she helped develop ConnectingWorlds, a platform centered on shared experience rather than abstraction. She later founded kara.co to explore new models for cross-border giving grounded in trust and agency.
